The distribution of Travellers, and the demography of the group, are a clear focus of the AITHS census.  Through a comprehensive and focused study, light will be shed on the localised healthcare needs of the population, thereby ensuring a prepared health service.

Whilst information on distribution and population is available, there exist disparities each year between the figures in the Census and figures held by the National Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee (NTACC). These disparities are clear in side-by-side comparisons of figures, compiled from government reports by Pavee Point.
